Frequently Asked Questions

Why are VoicePrint West classes online?

VoicePrint West VO classes are online for a better learning experience. The everyday life of a voice-over actor is self-taping and sending their home read auditions back to casting or production.

How does the process of self-taping and home reads work?

The casting director (or production) sends the actor a script and directions. The talent then has to record it at home with good sound quality and send it back to casting or production.

There are little to none in-person auditions happening in the voice-over industry.

What happens at a booking?

Sometimes the talent is invited to record at a local studio and other times they again record from home with the creatives virtually online.

How do I know what equipment to use?

Part of VoicePrint West training is educating you on equipment. Another good thing about VoicePrint West workshops being online is that as you are learning your sound quality is being checked out. You are right there working with your equipment that you will be auditioning with.

Our Voice-Over Philosophy

The Voice-Over field is open to everyone whether you have agent representation or not. Agents are always on the lookout for fresh voices, and the internet offers audition and booking opportunities without representation. We have a full curriculum available to you from entrance level to advanced. These workshops are offered online to simulate and reflect actually auditioning and working in voice-over. You can participate in the entire curriculum, or jump in any place in-between, as long as you meet the criteria for that particular workshop.

VoicePrint West’s teachers are working professionals in the voice over field ranging from Casting Director to successful VO artists. We provide you with up-to-the minute understanding and training through interesting, challenging workouts for your advancing success in the voice-over business.

The art of voice-over is an ever-evolving process. Enjoy the ride.

More Workshops

“My experience taking Terry’s commercial class was life changing for my acting career. The way I broke down copy and delivered it to camera will be forever changed thanks for the training I received from Terry. I learned commercial pace, what works for me on camera and what doesn’t work for me, and also learned how to add my own unique style to all commercial copy. I am tremendously grateful for Terry because of her guidance and teachings.”
